Bakersfield, MO – A two vehicle crash north of Bakersfield, Mo Wednesday evening sent one woman to the hospital. The accident occurred at 5:55 p.m. on Sept. 15, three miles north of Bakersfield on Highway 101. A northbound 2021 Jeep Compass driven by Cailee Garrison, 18 of Thayer, crossed the centerline and struck a southbound 2016 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Betty Johnston, 83 of Bakersfield. The Equinox then traveled off the left side of the road, striking a fence.
Both vehicles were totaled in the accident. Both drivers were also wearing their seat belts. Betty Johnston suffered minor injuries and was transported by Ozark County Ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains. Cailee Garrison was not reported as being injured.
This accident was investigated by Trooper W. Wadlington of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop G.
