Mountain Grove, MO. – Two Springfield women were arrested last Wednesday for drugs and other charges following a traffic stop on Highway 60.
On July 13th, 2022, at approximately 9:14 pm Corporal Campbell of the Wright County Sheriff’s Office received information from Corporal Mings of Mtn. Grove PD of a stop and hold for Houston Police Department. Corporal Mings advised the suspects left Mtn. Grove Walmart to an unknown location. Corporal Campbell located the suspect vehicle on Highway 60 west of Norwood. The suspects, Melody Decker, 42 of Springfield and Hermauney Montgomery, 19, of Springfield were detained for theft investigation.
During the investigation, consent to search was asked and denied. Corporal Campbell deployed K9 Ace. Suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, pills and unknown black liquid in syringes were located. There were multiple items located related to the theft cases. There was also a two-year-old child in the vehicle. Mtn. Grove Police Department and Houston Police Department will be handling the theft from Wal Mart.

Melody Decker has been charged with Possession Of Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams Or Less Of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid and Endangering the Welfare of a Child involving Drugs, both felonies. No charges for Montgomery could be found in online court documents.
All suspects should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
