Gainesville – With the cooperation of multiple law enforcement organizations, escapee Jason Laird is back behind bars.
On Saturday, June 26th, the Ozark Co/Douglas Co Multi-jurisdictional Task Force received information that Mr. Laird was still in the area. While searching for Laird, the team observed an individual with local warrants. They made contact with the individual at a residence and arrested the subject on the warrant.
While there, Sheriff Degase observed Laird and entered the residence. After searching for Laird at the residence, it was found that Laird had escaped. Soon after, a citizen reported that they saw Laird north of N Hwy trying to flag a ride. The team responded to the area and noticed a male trying to cross the road. The male was identified as Jason Laird and he was taken into custody without incident.
Jason Laird is back in custody of the Missouri Department of Corrections.
