West Plains, MO. – More information has been released as a part of the arrest of the wanted individual on 1st Street in West Plains, MO. The individual arrested is known as Rain Collins, who had been known to be armed, resist police arrest, and flee.
As a part of the arrest, Law Enforcement discovered that Collins likely had in his possession a handgun. Law Enforcement evacuated local residents and even helped two others exit the residence they had surrounded. However, with the idea of a possibly armed Collins, they also received information that a juvenile female was still in the residence.
Detective Pounders of the West Plains Police Departments Crisis Negotiations Team stepped up and managed to talk Collins out of the residence. The juvenile was found shortly after, who had turned out to be a local runaway. The juvenile was released to a Juvenile Officer from the 37th Judicial Circuit Juvenile Office.
