Van Buren Police arrested a man, following a traffic stop for failure to use a turn signal. After Justin Dover had been pulled over, Carter County Sheriff Alonzo Bradwell arrived and deployed his K-9, Braun. The K-9 made a positive indication on the passenger side of the vehicle, leading to a search.
A bag was found in the vehicle containing several clear plastic baggies with a white crystalline substance, aluminum foil containing a white crystalline substance, a sticky note containing a brown crystalline substance, and a digital scale. A .40 caliber Glock 22 handgun with one round loaded in the chamber, fully loaded magazine, and a laptop were located in the trunk of the vehicle. A search of Dover’s person revealed he had stuffed a clear glass smoking device in the front of his pants.
Dover is charged with delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a firearm.
