Van Buren Woman Injured in Head On Crash Sunday

A two‑vehicle crash on Highway C, about five miles southwest of Van Buren, left a Van Buren woman moderately injured late Sunday afternoon. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 5 p.m. when a northbound 2003 Chevrolet Malibu crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2007 Chevrolet Silverado.

Troopers say the Malibu was driven by a 43‑year‑old woman from Van Buren, who was wearing a safety device. She sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mercy St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View.

The Silverado was driven by a 16‑year‑old male juvenile, also from Van Buren. He was wearing a safety device and was not reported injured. 

The Patrol notes that the collision occurred when the Malibu crossed the center line, striking the Silverado head‑on.
