Vannada named City of W.P. employee of the month

Brad Vannada was recently recognized as the December employee of the month for the City of West Plains. Brad’s nomination was sent in by West Plains Elementary School Counselor Michelle Miller.

In November Miller was bit by what was thought to be a neighbor’s dog. Later it was found out the dog was not the neighbor’s and unsure if it had been vaccinated. After the dog bite she was to start prophylactic rabies treatment. Officer Vannada went the extra mile to do some research and learned the dog had received a rabies vaccination by a vet in West Plains. Therefore, Miller did not have to go through the rabies treatment.

Vannada started as a seasonal employee for the Parks & Recreation Department in 2006, became a part-time parking/nuisance officer in 2008 and took over as Animal Control Officer in 2012.
