Willow Springs, MO – A one vehicle accident south of Vanzant in Douglas County has sent one man to the hospital. The accident occurred shortly after midnight on Wednesday morning. A 1997 Chevrolet PU driven by Robert Sheese, 46 of Vanzant, was traveling north on Highway W 5 miles south of Vanzant when Sheese failed to negotiate a curve, traveling off of the left side of the road and striking a tree. Sheese was not wearing a safety device and was ejected from the vehicle.
Sheese was flown by Mercy LifeLine to Mercy Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries. The Chevrolet was totaled.
