Andrew Vrba, 21, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murder of a Texas County transgender teenager. Vrba will also serve 20 years for armed criminal action. The sentences will be served concurrently.
Vrba was sentenced on the first-degree murder charge Friday. He was convicted of multiple charges in August, including first-degree murder, armed criminal action and abandonment of a corpse.
Vrba is one of four suspects charged in the death of 17-year-old transgender teen, who went by the name of Ally Steinfeld, in September 2017. Three others had previously pleaded guilty and are in prison for their roles in Steinfeld’s death.
Steinfeld had been reported missing for weeks when her burned remains were found near Cabool. Investigators say her eyes were gouged out and that she was stabbed several times, including in the genitals.
