61-year old Anna Hambelton, of Dora, was killed Monday night in a two-vehicle accident in West Plains.
At 7:13 p.m., West Plains Police responded to the intersection of U.S. 63 and CC/Gibson Avenue. regarding a motor vehicle accident involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle.
Investigation revealed that the semi truck was traveling north bound on U.S. Highway 63 and failed to stop when its traffic light turned red. The semi-truck struck a westbound passenger vehicle.
Hambelton, the passenger in the second vehicle was transported to Ozarks Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the second vehicle, whose name has not been released, was seriously injured and taken to a Springfield hospital. The driver of the semi-truck, who has also not been named by police, was uninjured.
The investigation is ongoing.
