Wanted Winona Man Arrested for Leaving the Scene of Fatal October Accident 

Eminence, Mo. – A Winona man was arrested Thursday on multiple warrants, including a warrant dealing with the death of a woman in October 2021. 

Jason L. Shipton, age 34, was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol at 9:03 p.m. the night of March 10, 2022 for six outstanding warrants. These include Felony Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death, Misdemeanor No Insurance, No License Plates, No Seat Belt, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Shipton had been the driver of a 1998 Ford Ranger on the night of October 15, 2021 that ran off the road and hit a tree, fatally injuring his passenger, 23 year old Shelby Lawrence of Winona, Mo. She succumbed to her injuries on October 17 while being treated at Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
