West Plains, MO. – The West Plains Aquatic Center was the target of an early morning vandalism on Sunday, June 19, 2022.
Due to damage done by the vandals, the Aquatic Center was not able to open on time Sunday. The center opened at 2:15 p.m. following clean up and is operating at normal business hours today.
The center thanked those who helped in cleanup, stating “Thank you to the lifeguards, managers, and city parks department for the assistance in cleaning up the vandalism at the pool from overnight. It’s a shame that people feel the need to destroy property.”
The extent of the damage has not been released. Anyone who has information about those who vandalized the West Plains Aquatic Center is urged to contact the West Plains Police Department at 417-256-2244.
