Mountain View, Mo. – West Plains Bank and Trust Company Liberty Branch will host a fundraiser to benefit the F.E.E.D. Program in Mountain View, Mo., Oct. 1 through 31, 2022. This is the thirteenth year for the bank to support the cause and all donations are being matched.
“We’re entering a time of year when local families find themselves most in need,” said West Plains Bank and Trust Company Liberty Branch Manager, Stephanie Jester. “Demand increases during the holidays, and people are finding it more and more difficult to keep their pantries stocked, so it’s a crucial time to support the F.E.E.D. Program.”
“The last couple of years, we’ve chosen to collect monetary donations, as opposed to non-perishable items and we have been very successful in doing so. When we first started collecting monetary donations for the F.E.E.D. Program in 2020, we were able to raise $2,000 for the program to purchase items on their own. Last year, we collected $1,310 and that total was matched by the bank bringing the final fundraiser total to $2,620. This year, we look forward to seeing that total increase and we need the support from our community to make that happen. Like last year, we won’t be accepting donations of non-perishable items, instead we are selling pumpkins on which names can be written. Pumpkins will be sold for a minimum $1 donation and displayed in our branch. All donations will be matched by the bank, dollar for dollar up to $1,000, and presented to the F.E.E.D. Program and be used to purchase needed food items.”
