West Plains Bridge Connecting Allen Street and County Road 2570 Closed Once More

West Plains, MO. – Last year in October, the bridge connecting Allen Street and County Road 2570 was closed and demolished to make way for a total replacement, allowing for better travel safety and visibility. The route was temporarily opened, but is now closed once more as of Thursday, February 29th.

According to Billy Sexton, South Howell County Commissioner, this closure is due to completion of the new bridge. The previous opening was only allowed for those who live along the county road, and finishing touches to the bridge aren’t expected to last much longer than this week. Areas around the bridge will be paved, and proper ditches will be added around the bridge to allow for better water drainage.
