The West Plains Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday, December 12, 2020. This year’s Parade theme is “Stronger Together”. The Parade will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the corner of Porter Wagoner and Girdley (by City Hall), travel down Porter Wagoner and disburse at People’s Park. Please note that the parade route has been changed from previous years to allow spectators adequate room between families and groups.
Chamber Director Jessica Collins stated, “We would like to bring some joy to the end of this challenging year and hope for an uplifting holiday season. In order to move forward with our plans, it will be the responsibility of each person attending the Parade to protect each other by social distancing. We are asking our community to cooperate with all safety measures as we try to get back to some normalcy in our lives”. “As we have stated many times, we ARE stronger together!”.
Chamber officials have indicated that Parade entry forms will be available beginning November 4th at the Chamber office, 401 Jefferson Avenue. All those who wish to participate in the Parade MUST register in advance. No walk-ups will be allowed. Line-up & safety instructions will be given to entries when they register. A panel of judges from neighboring communities will evaluate entries on Originality, Workmanship and Relevance to the Parade Theme. First and Second Place prizes will be awarded in three categories: Commercial, Religious and Miscellaneous, plus an overall Grand Prize.
