West Plains City Council passes pair of police-related ordinances

The West Plains City Council met in regular session Thursday (11/19) evening at West Plains City Hall.

The City Council passed a pair of police-related ordinances. Ordinance 4671 pertains to the assaulting or abuse of police service animals. West Plains Police Chief Stephen Monticelli explained the ordinance:

The council then approved resolution 1124, which creates an Officer Training Reimbursement Agreement between City of West Plains Police Department Officers and the West Plains Police Department. Monticelli explains:

In other business, the council approved Ordinance 4673, the adoption of the amended budgets for the fiscal year beginning April 1, 2020 and ending March 31, 2021, and heard the first reading of Ordinance 4674, an ordinance to adopt Stormwater Quality and Quantity measures to comply with Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
