West Plains City Council Special Session: City discusses future infrastructure

The West Plains City Council met Tuesday evening in special session for the reading of a bill and a work study.

The meeting begin with the first of Bill 4677. An Ordinance approving a lease purchase transaction for the purpose of providing funds to refinance an outstanding lease obligation of the City of West Plains, Missouri; authorizing and approving related documents; and authorizing certain other actions in connection therewith.

City officials explained the Bill was in regards to the refinancing of a city water tower.

The first reading of the Bill passed unanimously and will be voted on at council’s next meeting.

The city council then entered the work study, which focused on the city’s short-term and long-term needs for its electrical, water, and sewage/waste water departments.
