West Plains, MO. – A driver from West Plains is recovering from serious injuries and is facing DWI charges after crashing their vehicle on the evening of July 30th.
This was a one-vehicle overturn crash on County Road 1770, two miles North of West Plains. The vehicle was a Chevy Impala, and the driver was Brittany Teitsort, a 35-year-old West Plains resident.
Teitsort was traveling Southbound, and the report states she lost control of the vehicle. She then overcorrected and overturned, totaling the Impala. She was also not wearing a safety device during the crash and suffered serious injuries. Her wounds necessitated the use of air ambulance transport to Springfield where she was treated.
In addition, the driver will receive criminal charges in relation to the crash, including a misdemeanor DWI charge, Failure to Drive on the Right Half of the Roadway Resulting in a Crash, and No Seat Belt.
The investigator of this Crash was Corporal J.D. Wheeler and was assisted by Trooper L.C. Pruiett, both of Troop G. In addition, were the Howell County Sheriff’s Office, South Howell County Ambulance, and Howell Rural Fire Department.
