West Plains, MO. – Citizens of West Plains in the area around First Street are reporting being without power this evening.
Affected locations are around Hoglen Street, Carte Square, Missouri Avenue, Pennsylvania Avenue, Franklin Avenue, 1st Street, Worcester Street, and Cass Avenue.

This is likely due to a pair of power poles that were reportedly struck by lightning sometime in the early 5 o’clock hour.
According to the West Plains PD, the Electric Department fixed and restored power to all areas as of 8:54 pm.
Those who are without power and aren’t in these areas are asked to call 417-256-2244 to report the outage.
