Salutatorian and Valedictorian awards
To meet the requirements of Valedictorian and Salutatorian, students must not only have the top GPA’s, but must also meet the requirements to receive an honors certificate, achieve a minimum score of 24 on the ACT, and have earned a minimum of 28 credits.
- The Salutatorian award recognizes the second highest academic honor for our 2022 graduating class. This award represents four years of dedication and commitment to education. This year’s Salutatorian is awarded to Mr. John David Edgeller.
- The highest academic honor possible in high school is the Valedictorian award. The Valedictorian earns this honor through the successful completion of many rigorous courses over their 4 years at West Plains High School. In this year’s incredibly high achieving class, it is fitting that the top honor of Valedictorian is actually a three-way tie and has been earned by Micah Mattsfield, Layna Roylance, and Madison Rost.
Best Citizen Awards
Best Citizen Award, given to one male and one female each year. These individuals are selected by a secret ballot of the faculty and student leadership. The winners of this award define what it means to be a Zizzer. Their commitment, participation, and dedication to their school and community earns this recognition. They are our model student citizens. Join me in congratulating the winners for 2022, Ms. Jayna Gunter and Mr. Brock Larsen
