163,474 – That’s the number of meals served to West Plains students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

When the COVID-19 pandemic prematurely ended the 2019-202 school year, the West Plains School District saw a need to feed its students and partnered with OPAA to serve breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday. In total, 163,474 meals have been served to West Plains kids over the last two months, through bus routes and Grab & Go Pickup locations.

“We want to take the opportunity to thank Opaa!, and our food service crew for getting up early and preparing the meals each day,” said school officials. “We want to thank our teachers for helping to deliver the meals, our bus drivers for driving the buses, our custodial crew for helping to load, and all of our dedicated staff who have made this happen. There are many employees working behind the scenes to ensure we serve our community and our kids.”
