West Plains man arrested after attempting to leave accident near Warsaw, Mo

Warsaw, Mo. – A West Plains man was arrested after attempting to leave the scene of a crash in Benton County, Missouri. The accident occurred at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday afternoon on US 65.

A 2000 Toyota Camry driven by John Johnson, 50 of West Plains, crossed the center of the roadway and off the left side of the road, striking a fence and a tree before coming to rest in a field. Johnson was arrested by Missouri State Highway Patrol and charged with Felony Leaving the Scene of a Crash and Tampering with a Motor Vehicle. He was released to medical personal to receive treatment of his moderate injuries at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital.
