West Plains Man Arrested After Breaking Into House With Sink

West Plains, MO. – A West Plains man was arrested for burglary last week after breaking into his step-fathers’ home. Saul Chavez, age 29, was charged with 2nd Degree Burglary following the events on the afternoon of November 6 at a residence on County Road 6970.

According to the probable cause statement, Chavez broke the glass on the back door with a sink, unlocking the door and refusing to leave when approached by the owner of the residence. Chavez told the Howell County Sheriff’s Deputy on the scene that his brother owed him marijuana and he had come to collect or “take it by force” if the man refused to give the drugs to Chavez.

Chavez was arrested and is held in the Howell County Jail on $5,000 bond. On Tuesday, Nov. 8, the accused entered a plea of Not Guilty before Judge Robert Ray in the Howell County Courthouse.
