West Plains, MO. – A West Plains man was charged with multiple felonies after attempting to leave his residence while police were enacting a search warrant.
Jarvies Wilson is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, and two charges of endangering the welfare of a child involving drugs.
According to the probable cause statement, Wilson attempted to leave his residence on Monks Street with his two juvenile children while West Plains Police executed a search warrant for narcotics on July 6, 2023. The suspect was detained following a traffic stop.
The search warrant uncovered a scale with cocaine on it., a blue pill stamped with an “M” on aluminum foil, an M1911 pistol with ammunition, and a second piece of aluminum foil with burnt residue. Officers noted the blue pill was found in a children’s shoe box on the floor of an unlocked room.
A search of Wilson’s person following his arrest uncovered a green tablet stamped with “90” and was determined to be alprazolam, and $7,000 in cash. A smartphone was also recovered and entered into evidence.
Wilson was arrested by the West Plains Police Department and later released on a $25,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 19, 2023.
