West Plains, MO – A West Plains man has been arrested in connection with the statutory rape of a runaway teen. On Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 9:18 AM, West Plains Officers responded to the 1500 Block of Webster to assist another agency with the possible location of a runaway from Mansfield.
Contact was made with a 14-year-old-female near Webster and Halstead who had ran from a residence located in the 1500 block of Webster. The female alluded that she had sexual contact with a male at the residence where she had spent the night.
Officers proceeded to the residence and contacted a twenty-one-year-old male that was staying at the residence. The male subject was taken into custody and later transported to Howell County Sheriff’s Office to be interviewed by investigators.
The male subject was arrested for Statutory Rape in the Second Degree, Statutory Sodomy in the Second Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the Second Degree and Child Molestation in the Fourth Degree. Charges were forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutors Office for their review and filing of the said charges along with the possibility of other charges. The identity of the male subject has not been released.
