West Plains, MO. – A West Plains man was arrested for hijacking a vehicle last week. Shane Ray Reynolds is charged with violating an order of protection for an adult and vehicle hijacking following an incident on May 4, 2023.
According to the probable cause statement, West Plains Police officers responded to a call about a man having been on a woman’s property after he had been served with an Ex-Parte restricting him from doing so. The woman stated she saw Reynolds opening a window of the residence. The man ran from the window after seeing the woman run to check and make sure her door was locked. She then saw the man enter her vehicle and drive away. According to the report, Reynolds had previously bullied the woman into giving him a key to the vehicle.
The vehicle was found at a residence outside the city limits and the Howell County Sheriff’s Office was called to assist in recovering the vehicle. Reynolds was taken into custody by a sheriff’s deputy.
According to online court documents, the suspect is being held in the Howell County Jail on a $10,000 bond and has pled not guilty to the charges.
Reynolds will be in court later this month on charges of possession of a controlled substance.
