West Plains man charged in Catalytic Converter thefts takes plea deal, sentenced 

West Plains, MO. – A West Plains man charged with Catalytic Converter thefts has accepted a plea deal and has been sentenced to prison. 

On December 4, 2023, Dustin Lynn Jewell, age 37 of West Plains, accepted a plea deal on the charges of Stealing $750 or more and Stealing – Catalytic Converter. Jewell was sentenced to 4 years incarceration for the first offense and 5 years incarceration for the second offense. The sentences are to run concurrently with any and all other sentences.

Jewell was initially arrested on April 28, 2023, on the charges. A jury trial date had been set for Dec. 12th but a plea deal was reached between the prosecution and defense before the trial date.

Jewell had previously been convicted of drug possession in 2018 and has yet to have trial for a misdemeanor charge of driving while revoked/suspended.
