West Plains Man Facing Criminal DWI Charges After Crash

West Plains, MO. – A West Plains man took a trip to Ozarks Healthcare for recovery and is facing criminal charges after he crashed his vehicle on Sunday, July 9th.

The time and location of this crash was 5:24pm on County Road 8040, one mile East of West Plains. The driver was Charles Hunsperger, a 33-year-old West Plains resident.

Hunsperger’s Chevy Malibu was totaled after he ran it off the roadway and it overturned. The driver suffered only minor injuries, but was also found to be intoxicated at the time of the accident. He is facing charges including Driving While Intoxicated, No Valid License, Failure to Drive on the Right Half of the Roadway, No Insurance, Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle, and No Seat Belt.

The investigator of this crash was Master Sergeant T.W. Meyer of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop G.
