A West Plains man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he intentionally struck another person with a vehicle and caused thousands of dollars in damage before fleeing the scene. According to a probable cause statement from the West Plains Police Department, officers were called to Joe Jones Boulevard on June 30 for an assault. Investigators say security footage showed Ian Quinn Kursel driving through a property, hitting trees, a trailer and a swing set, causing about $5,000 in damage.
Police say Kursel then intentionally struck a man, throwing him onto the hood of the vehicle before he fell to the ground. The victim suffered lacerations and chest injuries. Kursel allegedly left the scene and later fled again after causing the damage.
Kursel is charged with second‑degree assault, three counts of first‑degree property damage, two counts of leaving the scene of an accident, and armed criminal action. His bond is set at $50,000.
