West Plains Mayor Signs Proclamation For National Foster Care Month

West Plains, MO. – May is National Foster Care Month. May was established as the National Foster Care Month in 1988. It was made to bring awareness to the children in foster care and to also acknowledge the people who help these children find permanent homes. 

On May 1, 2024, the West Plains Mayor, Mike Topliff, signed a proclamation to acknowledge all the kids and family members, foster parents, volunteers, mentors, child welfare professionals, and policymakers who worked to give better lives to foster children. During the proclamation signing, other community members were there to support National Foster Care Month including, the Faulhaber family, representatives from the Juvenile Office, Choas Closet, and CASA.

Mayor Mike Topliff is just one of many who take the time to recognize the need to acknowledge and appreciate these people.
