West Plains Native Graduates From The U.S. Naval Academy

West Plains, MO. – A West Plains graduate recently went through and completed four years at a prestigious academy that mentally, morally, and physically prepares midshipmen for the U.S. Navy. 

Nate Bramwell just Graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy. More than 4,400 students from every state in the United States and several foreign countries make up the student body which is known as the Brigade of Midshipmen and approximately 1,200 students are admitted every year. U.S. News and World Reports have recognized this school as the #1 public school, #4 engineering program, and #6 liberal arts college.

While there, Bramwell learned about leadership, ethics, small arms, drill, seamanship and navigation, tactics, naval engineering and weapons, and military law from military and civilian instructors. He also participated in the Varsity Offshore Sailing Team. Bramwell graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Research and a commission as a U.S. Marine Corps 2nd Lieutenant.

The academy’s alumni include 29 members of Congress, five governors, 73 Medal of Honor recipients, two Nobel Prize winners, 55 astronauts, 4,000 admirals and generals, and James Earl Carter the 39th President of the United States.
