West Plains, MO. – The West Plains Police Department made an announcement this past Friday about an arrest that involved allegations of sexual assault from multiple women who were teenagers at the time of the criminal act.
This investigation began on January 26th when an unidentified female made a report of sexual assaults she had experienced between the years of 1986 to 1989 at the hands of Skyler Sheldon, 77. Two others had then also reported similar experiences from the same time period, and all three were identified as being under 14 at the time.
Sheldon became apologetic when confronted by the victims at a previous date. During an interview in February, Sheldon admitted to the assaults in his West Plains residence, where he had lived until 1989.
On March 15th, Sheldon was arrested on five charges of Sodomy-Victim Less than 14 Years of Age and one charge of 1st Degree Sexual Abuse.
Investigation was performed by the West Plains PD, and was assisted by the Christian County Sheriff’s Department.
