West Plains, MO. – The West Plains Police Department recently responded to a one-vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday, May 20th at 4:51pm. This accident is reported to have ended in a fatality.
This accident happened on State Route BB, and happened when a Hyundai Santa Fe failed to negotiate a curve while travelling Northbound leaving town. The vehicle ended up striking both a pair of trees, and a pair of telephone boxes.
The driver of the vehicle, an unidentified 20-year-old male, was treated after the accident with minor injuries. One passenger however, identified as Charlotte Wilson, 30 of West Plains, lost her life in the accident. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by Howell County Coroner, Tim Cherry.
In response to the accident were the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the West Plains Fire Department, Howell County Rural Fire Department, and South Howell County Ambulance.
