UPDATE: West Plains Police Department Actively Looking For Man Who Kidnapped 2-Year-Old Child – Believed To Still Be In WP

West Plains, MO. – Late last night, Tuesday, July 23, 2024, around 8:56 p.m. the West Plains Police Department received a call for an in-progress parental kidnapping in West Plains. The reporting party told the police that a male took her two-year-old daughter and that the man was visibly intoxicated. The woman said that he had tried to leave in a vehicle before fleeing on foot. The male was last seen running towards the Brook Haven Healthcare building.

The male was identified as 30-year-old Joseph Rader and the child is 2-year-old Paxton Rader.

Paxton was last seen wearing a pink and tan shirt and shorts with Snoopy on it. She is a white female and has short blonde curly hair which is shoulder length in the back. She has brown eyes and is approximately 33 inches tall and 25 pounds. She was not wearing any shoes at the time.
Joseph was last seen wearing a green ball cap, black shirt, and blue jeans. He is a white male from the Birch Tree area and has brown hair and brown eyes. He is about 5 foot and 10 inches tall and weighs about 145 pounds.
 
The West Plains Police Department are stating that they believe Joseph to be a danger to both himself and Paxton and has been heard making suicidal threats to many individuals. If you have any information or see Paxton or Joseph, contact the West Plains Police Department at 417-256-2244.
