Tuesday (7/7), the West Plains Police Department held a pinning ceremony at West Plains City Hall to welcome four new officers to the department. Officers Colter Reid, Micah McKemie, Whitley Clark, and Amanda Ohlau began their law enforcement careers after graduating from the Police Academy Monday night (7/6).
During the ceremony Officer Brad Jones was given a Favorable Occurrence Award for positive interactions with the community and his selflessness when dealing with those who are less fortunate.
Officer Ivie Powell was given a Favorable Occurrence Award for his actions that resulted in the recovery of stolen vehicles, firearms and the arrest of the criminal who was in possession of them.
The department also recognized the promotions of Officers Shannon Sisney, Joshua Wichowski and Wesley Stuart to the rank of Corporal.
