West Plains, MO. – At the West Plains City Council meeting earlier this week, the council was introduced to the newest member of the West Plains Police Department, K9 Officer Tito.
K9 Officer Tito is a two-year old German Shepard and is partnered with Officer Brent McKemie.

Officer McKemie came to the WPPD almost three years ago and has a high interest in Narcotic Investigations and getting dangerous drugs off our streets. McKemie had traveled to the current Master k9 Instructor in Joplin last year to learn as much as he could prior to applying for the position. McKemie is comfortable with dogs as he worked with sixty dogs at a kennel when he was younger at a breeder.
Officer McKemie became acquainted with Tito and be attended Canine School on January 3, 2022.
