This coming weekend is Memorial Day Weekend with Memorial Day being Monday May 25, 2020. Officers with the West Plains Police Department will be out in force over the holiday weekend taking part in a state wide DWI Enforcement Campaign. The enforcement campaign will begin on Friday May 22, 2020 and will go through Memorial Day.
Approximately one third of annual traffic fatalities are caused by one or more substance impaired drivers or motorcycle operators. The West Plains Police Department wants to ensure our streets and roadways are safe for all motorists in our community.
The West Plains Police Department reminds everyone who will be celebrating this Memorial Day Weekend to do so responsibly. Instead of driving, call a taxi service or use a designated driver.
