The West Plains Public Library will host a special storytelling event on March 21, 2025, featuring retired educator and traditional Ozarks storyteller, Mrs. Danette House. The program, titled “West Plains… From the Beginning,” will take attendees on a historical journey through the town’s past, highlighting key figures and events from the time of the Osage people to the mid-1900s.
The event will include a captivating slideshow presentation alongside Mrs. House’s engaging storytelling. Attendees will gain insight into the rich heritage of West Plains and the individuals who played a role in shaping the community.
This free program will take place in the Community Room of the library from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on March 21. Community members are encouraged to attend and immerse themselves in the history and culture of the Ozarks.
