West Plains, MO – The West Plains School District announced a change to their mask policy today: Masks will no longer be required to be worn by high school students and teachers. The superintendent of West Plains Schools, Dr. Lori Wilson, issued this statement on the changes in an email on Monday:
“Due to the small number of students and teachers that have tested positive or quarantined, high school students are no longer required to mask, and all teachers, district-wide, are no longer required to mask.
To clarify, starting today, Monday, October 11, masking is no longer required inside our facilities. However, due to a Federal order, masks are still required on school buses. Please understand, this decision could change if our numbers begin to rise and a significant amount of students and teachers have to remain at home due to being COVID positive or quarantined.”
