West Plains, MO. – The West Plains Senior Center is currently seeking individuals who are interested in pitching into their community to bolster their ranks of volunteers. With many organizations currently looking for able-bodied individuals to fill out their ranks, volunteer-dependent groups find it especially difficult to find people who can help.
We’ve talked to organizations such as local Fire Departments about this issue, but others may not realize that senior centers around the area fall into this category as well. Joy Pace with the West Plains Senior Center also came in to talk about the positions being sought from community members.
People who are required to put in volunteer time to qualify for certain things, such as college grants, may also find that participating will add to the qualifications, and volunteer work always looks good on a resume.
Remember that while the focus of this piece is relevant to the Senior Center in West Plains, it’s likely that your local Senior Center may also be needing assistance. This includes Houston, Willow Springs, Alton, Ava, Mountain Home, and others.
