West Plains Shop With a Cop Program Now Accepting Applications

West Plains, MO. – With the Ozarks moving into its second weekend of November, the holidays are fast approaching. This means we should soon expect the chill of winter upon us, Christmas music taking to the air, and various fundraisers going on that are specific to the holidays.

One of the most famous programs, Shop With a Cop, is a program where local law enforcement take donations and raise money for the purpose of providing presents to children in underprivileged home lives or situations.

Children accepted into this program will meet up with local law enforcement at Wal-Mart in West Plains December 10th, and be given a cut of the funds to buy whatever they desire.

Last years program saw $18,000 go to children in the area, and the West Plains branch of the Fraternal Order of Police, Brad Jones, has announced that applications for this program are now being issued and received.

Both pick-up and drop-off locations will be at the West Plains Police Department. To find more information on this program, or what is needed to apply, call the West Plains Police Department @ (417) 256-2244

Applications will be accepted from today until December 2nd. This month will go by fast, so don’t wait to apply if you know a child who could use more holiday cheer.
