West Plains Teen Missing – Parents And Officials Looking For Help

West Plains, MO. – An endangered person advisory has been issued for a missing West Plains teenager. 

On August 17, 2024, 17-year-old Abigail Katherine Lawless reportedly left her residence at 10807 County Road 9470 around midnight.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol stated that Abigail Lawless left a note telling her parents that she was better off living independently. She may be traveling to Kansas City, MO, with an unknown subject who is believed to be male, whom she met online. She is described as a 5-foot-9 white female weighing 162 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes, and an unknown clothing description. 

Anyone with information on her whereabouts should contact the Howell County Sheriff’s Office at 417-256-2544. 

Leah Lawless, Abigail’s mother, posted on her Facebook page, that she has no money, no driver’s license (has an ID though), and is on the spectrum of autistic (high functioning).
