West Plains to roll out COVID Vaccine Incentive Program for City Employees

West Plains, MO – The COVID-19 pandemic continues as the Delta variant spreads among Missouri. With vaccine rates in Howell County under 20%, the City of West Plains is rolling out a COVID-19 Vaccine Incentive Program for all city employees. The cities of Joplin and Springfield in southwestern Missouri have enacted similar programs with some success.

This program is completely voluntary for the employees of the City of West Plains. If previously vaccinated or in the process of getting the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, employees will receive a gift card and a day of paid leave. This will be funded through the Employee Recognition Program and Risk Management Program.
