The West Plains Utilities electric crew is actively working alongside other municipal crews to restore power in Rolla after a devastating tornado caused widespread damage to the area’s electrical infrastructure. The storm impacted transmission, three-phase, and single-phase power lines, initially leaving 8,000 customers without electricity.
Rolla Municipal Utilities, which serves approximately 9,500 customers, has made significant progress in restoring power. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of all responding crews, electricity has been restored to 6,100 customers as of late last night. However, 1,900 customers remain without power, and crews continue working diligently to reconnect every affected home and business as quickly and safely as possible.
Efforts will continue until full restoration is achieved, with utility teams prioritizing safety while addressing the extensive damage.
