West Plains woman charged in October crash leaving one injured

West Plains, MO. –  A West Plains woman has been charged in an October DWI crash that left one person injured. 

Talesa J. Stroud, age 43, is charged with DWI – Physical Injury following a crash on October 12, 2023.

The probable cause statement says a two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Catalina Drive and Crawford Street in West Plains. Police determined Stroud had crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic while turning from Catalina Drive onto Crawford Street and struck the front end of the second vehicle driving on Crawford.

The driver of the second vehicle had injured their wrist as a result of the crash. Police performed a breath test on Stroud which showed a BAC level of .118, which is above the legal limit in Missouri of .08.

The report notes Stroud having a previous DWI conviction in Arkansas from 2016 and a pending DWI charge in Howell County from January 2023.
