West Plains woman injured in crash involving deer in Phelps County

West Plains, MO. – A West Plains woman was injured in a car crash after striking a deer on Sunday night. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred on US Highway 63 at the intersection of County Road 6120 in Phelps County at 8:46 p.m. on August 6, 2023.

A Nissan Armada driven by Kristeen Hobbs, age 39, struck a deer and traveled off the left side of the roadway and coming to a stop facing south. Hobbs had been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and suffered moderate injuries. She was taken by ambulance to Phelps Health in Rolla for treatment.
