West Plains woman injured in Four Vehicle Crash near Thayer

West Plains, MO. – A West Plains woman was injured in a four vehicle crash that happened Wednesday night near Thayer. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the incident occurred at 6:05 p.m. on US 63, one mile south of Thayer in the southbound lane.

The crash occurred after a 2016 Dodge Journey driven by Phillip Burkett, age 40 of Roeland, Kansas, stopped for a 2009 Toyota Tacoma driven by Heather Massey, age 36 of Thayer, as she was turning left. A 2010 Toyota Yarris driven by Ella Dennison, age 20 of West Plains, struck the Journey, pushing it into the Tacoma. Dennison’s vehicle was then struck from behind by a 1999 Dodge 2500 driven by Daniel Ligenfelter, age 18 of Mammoth Spring, Ar.

All of the drivers had been wearing seat belts and Dennison was the only individual reported as injured. She was taken by private vehicle to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment.
