What is Douglas County Question 1? Sheriff Degase Explains

Ava, MO. – November will be here before you know it, and so will the voting season. As such, it’s important that everyone thoroughly research the choices you’ll be making on the coming ballots.

In Douglas County, a question regarding taxes is about to make an appearance, but local Sheriff Chris Degase wants to underline to the public that this is not a new tax, and is simply about collecting what is due from state government.

This question applies to online sales tax being collected when an individual makes a purchase through suppliers such as Amazon or any other similar source.

What is being voted for is Douglas County’s ability to collect the revenue from these taxes that are already in place, and not to implement a new tax.

In an address to the public via their social media page, Sheriff Degase also stated that this question has already passed for the City of Ava in particular many years prior.
