Municipal Judge William Hass is announcing his candidacy for the position of Oregon County Associate Circuit Judge. The primary election is scheduled for August 2nd, 2022, and the General Election is set for November 8th 2022.
Judge Hass has served as Municipal Judge in the City of Thayer, Missouri, since the 1st day of January 1997; as Municipal Judge in West Plains, Missouri since the 1st day of October 1997; as Municipal Judge in the city of Mountain View, Missouri since the 1st day of January 2004; as Municipal Judge for the city of Willow Springs, Missouri since the 1st day of January 2006, and he served as the Municipal Judge in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas from January 1st 2003, until May 31st 2008. Prior to serving as the Municipal Judge in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, he served as the city attorney and prosecutor for Mammoth Spring beginning in August 1996. Judge Hass has been engaged in the practice of law in Arkansas since 1993 and in Missouri since 1998.
Judge Hass has taught Criminal Justice, Business Law, Policing, Criminology, Debtor/Creditor Rights and Remedies, Domestic Relations, Wills, Trusts and Estates, Business Entities, and Political Science courses at Missouri State University in West Plains, Missouri since August 1997. In addition, he has taught the constitutional law courses and the Missouri Statutes portion at the Missouri Sheriff’s Academy in West Plains, Missouri since the fall of 2000. Judge Hass has also taught classes for Drury University and Three Rivers Community College.
Judge Hass has served as a board member of the Missouri Municipal and Associate Circuit Judges Association, the Deputy Nathan Murphy Scholarship Foundation, the South Central Missouri Spinal Cord Foundation, the Missouri State University West Plains Development Board, the Thayer Mammoth Spring Rotary Board of Directors, President of the Thayer Mammoth Spring Rotary Club for 1998-1999, as a member of the South Central Missouri Probation and Parole Citizens Advisory Board, and as a member of the advisory board of the 37th Judicial Circuit Court Appointed Special Advocates (C.A.S.A.).
Judge Hass graduated from Thayer High School in 1983 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from (Southwest) Missouri State University, Springfield, Missouri in 1988 and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law, Fayetteville, Arkansas, in 1993
