Willow Springs, MO. – The Willow Springs R-IV School District issued an announcement earlier today on a possible safety risk event that occurred.

While no details were shared to specifically call out any parties due to the age of the individuals involved, the announcement works to assure the public of the risk management process being implemented.

Today, staff received information regarding a possible threat made by a high school student. The involved parties were immediately contacted to ensure safety. We have a trained team for properly dealing with such occurrences. We initially treat all of these potential threats as extremely serious, and regardless of the findings, we have a robust follow-up and case management process to ensure continued safety for the school community. Be aware that any threat invariably spawns multiple unfounded rumors. If anyone has any concerns over this situation or any future situation, please call Officer Moore or any of our administrators or counselors at any time so we can provide thorough follow-up. Thank you for everyone’s continued efforts to help ensure our school’s safety.
